Best Baseball Games of the Week: MLB 2017 Week 4 Recap

Best Baseball Games of the Week – April 23-29 was the fourth week of the 2017 MLB season. We saw monster homers, insane acrobatics, incredible pitching, walkoffs, and ballclub records set, matched, or broken. All in all, a good week for baseball fans.

We like to rank the weekly best roundup, as if that is really possible. Well, maybe it is, but we don’t have the raw computing power to effectively rank these using 100% quantifiable data. Instead, we take a combination of statistics, match them up with headlines, highlights, and box scores, then choose what look to be the most exciting games of the day (or week, as the case may have it). So feel free to disagree, that’s what being a fan is all about! Enjoy the best games of MLB 2017 week 4 in this weekly recap.

If you like to watch baseball – any baseball – you’re in for a treat with Baseball Rewatch. We pull together the best games from every day, every week, and every month of the Major League Baseball season so you can watch the next day or the next month. And all without any spoilers, so you can watch the game using an MLB.tv subscription and it will be just like it’s live – except you already know you’re going to enjoy some premium quality games.

That’s the trouble for fans with the sheer amount of baseball available to us – 162 games played by 30 MLB clubs, each at a wonderful 2.5+ hour running time (I’m a fan of long, slow baseball games. So sue me Rob Manfred). But that’s just too much to consume. With so many games available, we might as well limit ourselves to the best. But we don’t want to know the outcome ahead of time! That’s where Baseball Rewatch comes in.

We provide listings for fun and exciting games without giving away the winner, the final score, or even the reason why we chose that game. It could be a tight 1-0 game with a 2-hit complete game shutout, or it could be a 12-7 game with a wild 8th inning comeback. It could be a three-homer game that’s close enough to stay interesting, or some unique play or performance that makes the headlines. You won’t know until you watch it!

So bookmark our site, and be sure to return during the offseason to get your baseball fix.

You can’t go wrong with any game on this list. You could rank them one through four, or four through one, and you wouldn’t be wrong. I would suggest the first two games, but that’s just me. If you’re fans of one of the other teams, you’ll want to watch those. Enjoy!

Best MLB Games April 24, 2017 – No Spoilers Or Scores

April 24, 2017 – Sometimes, one play makes all the difference. Other times it’s that hit in the first inning which sends the whole game on a particular trajectory with one team victorious and the other adding another tally to the “L” column. Is it that one pitch, that one umpire’s call, the one swing of the bat? Or is it the effect of a sequence, one thing after another with odds constantly changing…

There’s always something new in baseball to think about. Even late April games, after the initial rush of the season’s opening and before the big push towards the postseason, even in these days there is the chance of a surprising moment, and unexpected development, the sudden flip-flop of odds and momentum.

Here are the best MLB games from yesterday, 4/24/17. Enjoy.

Baseball Rewatch: Great MLB Games, No Spoilers

Best MLB Games April 23, 2017 – No Spoilers Or Scores

April 23, 2017 – A lovely Sunday for baseball. MLB really tried to highlight the rare New York Yankees vs Pittsburgh Pirates series, and this last game did not disappoint (the others were decent as well). However, the Atlanta-Philadelphia matchup edges that excellent game to top the day’s slate, as there were just a few more memorable moments in that game. Whichever game you choose, you’re in for a treat.

Here are the best baseball games from around the major leagues on this day in MLB history.

Daily Best MLB Games – April 23, 2017

If you’re interested in consuming an entire three-game series, you’ll love either or both of the Braves @ Phillies and the Blue Jays @ Angels matchups from Friday through Sunday. It would be hard to say which series was better; if you’re in to big names like Trout and Tulowitzki the Toronto/LA series has that covered plus a few surprising, exciting moments. The Braves/Phillies series might be a good re-introduction to the up-and-coming rosters of these two rebuilding teams.

These MLB games can be watched in their entirety at MLB.tv with your paid subscription. Click the links to view each game. Come back here every day to avoid any spoilers from the previous day’s baseball games, and we’ll point you towards the most interesting, tense, and/or unique MLB games from every day of the season. Best Baseball Games of the Week: MLB 2017 Week 3 Recap

April 16-22 – This was Week 3 of the 2017 MLB season. An interesting week, to be sure. We’re still in the very early stages, but the standings are beginning to shake out a bit, and streaks are either cooling off or turning into the backbone of a stellar season. Several standout players are making their marks. Several teams are performing as expected, others are over- or under-performing. There’s still tons of time for standings and stats to shake up, but the pulse of the 2017 season is making itself know.

Here are the best of the best games from Week 3 in our weekly recap. You’ll never find spoilers on these posts, just great baseball games to watch using your MLB.tv subscription.

Our weekly roundup is meant to highlight the very best of the best for each week. It’s tough to quantify, and you may find you disagree. That’s ok! That’s the beauty of baseball. There are ways to quantify what happens in a game, and there is also the subjective experience of it. I have to admit, I love both.

Best MLB Games April 22, 2017 – No Spoilers Or Scores

April 22, 2017 – A beautiful Saturday for baseball! At the close of Week 3 of the 2017 MLB season, we’ve witnessed several breakout stars and the continued dominance of established team pillars. One or two true surprises in the team divisional standings means that this season is shaping up to be a truly competitive one for a postseason slot. There’s still plenty of baseball left before October – but April has only served to whet the appetite for the dream of a World Series victory for baseball fans and the cities of Major League ballclubs across the nation.

Daily Best MLB Games – April 22, 2017

These are the four best MLB games from April 22, 2017, in our somewhat subjective but still data-driven judgment. Baseball is a special sport because of the fascinating dance that takes place between raw data and experiential human reactions to what the naked eye sees. The eyes may deceive at times, and the data can’t 100% convey the beauty of a ball barreled up in a tense 3-2 count with two outs in the late innings of a game. So I think it will always be a combination – the data helps us truly appreciate the baseball that we so enjoy experientially.

Here at Baseball Rewatch, we combine the two. We take a look at leverage index, pitchers’ game scores, and the details of the box score. We also look at highlight reels, news headlines, team rivalries, unique plays and clutch performances. The goal is to provide you with several selections every day that point you towards the most unique, interesting, and exciting baseball games from each and every day of the Major League Baseball season. You may agree, you may disagree. Fans have always done so in every sport, and will continue to do so always.

But if you’ve already watched your team’s game and want to go deeper, here we are. In the offseason you can come back and rewatch as much baseball as you like, and you will know that each game we select will feature some element of interest that highlights how fun baseball can be.
