Best Baseball Games - April 2017

Here Are The 15 Greatest MLB Games From April 2017

The month of April started off the 2017 MLB season in great style. We saw stellar career rebounds, young stars breaking out, established veterans bolstering HOF credentials, and early debates for All-Star game selections. Looking across the standings, there are a few surprises around the league as some teams underperform and others shine in unexpected ways.

You gotta love it!

We’ve been tallying the best and most entertaining baseball games from every day of the 2017 MLB season. Now that April has concluded, we can summarize the first month with a selection of what we can call truly great baseball games from April 2017. We always post these without any spoilers, so you won’t know what you’re in for until the game is complete. This is a teriffic way to watch – or Rewatch – baseball if you miss some games, can’t watch as much as you like, work odd hours, or live in a blackout zone for your local team.

Click the link for each game below to watch using your MLB.tv subscription. The game will launch and you won’t have seen any scores or highlights or other spoilers that will detract from your baseball experience.

The 15 Greatest MLB Games From April 2017

It’s tough to rank games against one another, which is why we’ve elected to go with the bullet-point list instead of 15 games ranked. Still, we’ve arranged these great MLB games from April 2017 into a rather subjective ranking. You can agree or disagree. If you can only hit up a couple of games, start at the top and work your way down. If you’re committed to watching the entire list, start from the bottom and work your way up. Either way, when you watch any baseball game from this list, you’re in for a real treat.

Complete List of Walkoff MLB Games for 2017

The Great List of 2017 Major League Baseball Walkoffs

Spoiler alert: Since this is called “The Great List of 2017 Major League Baseball Walkoffs,” you kinda already know what’s going to take place. Walkoffs are pretty much defined by the home team winning. So, there you go. You may know the final outcome, but how does it happen? Who has the clutch hit? Or is it a walk? A passed ball? Will it happen in the bottom of the 9th, or will it be the 12th? 10th, 13th, 15th…..??

In any case, you know these will be tight games with tense endings, and the thrill of the home crowd cheering on a clutch hit or smart baserunning. From bottom of the 9th come-from-behind two-run homers to bottom of the 12th walk-off-walks, these 2017 Major League Baseball walkoff games are simply fun to watch.

At Baseball Rewatch, we typically don’t go in for spoilers. Our goal is to provide you with a resource to watch baseball games from the past as if they were live. And not just any games – the best games from each day. You can go to MLB.tv and pick a random game, but wouldn’t you rather know you’re watching one of, if not the best games of the day? That’s what we do. No spoilers, no highlights, no scores, just every day’s most exciting MLB games. Check out the “daily” and “weekly” (etc.) posts to see more.

But every now and then it’s fun to switch it up and list something like this. I’m probably not the only fan that has a special weak spot for walkoffs. There’s just something ineffably exciting about the home team scoring the winning run as the crowd goes wild.

Opening Day 2017: Best MLB Games April 2, 2017 – No Spoilers or Scores

The 2017 Major League Baseball season has arrived! Just three games were played on Opening Day 2017, which fell on Sunday, April 2, 2017. They were good ones!

Normally, we’d list the top one or two games from each day of the season. Games are chosen based on how exciting, entertaining, historic, or interesting they are, and listed without comment for you to watch on MLB.tv as if they were live. We don’t reveal scores or provide any spoilers. The goal is to provide a way for you to watch the “best of” that day’s games in case you couldn’t watch in time, and also to provide a resource for you to pick great MLB games to watch during the offseason.

For today, Opening Day 2017, since there are only three from which to choose, we’ll just rank all three.

Best MLB Games – April 2, 2017

The three best (and only!) MLB games from Opening Day, ranked:

  1. Giants @ D-Backs
  2. Cubs @ Cardinals
  3. Yankees @ Rays

Each link clicks through so you can watch on MLB.tv with your subscription.

I think it would be tough to argue with #3 (though it was a solid, quality ballgame), but what about the first two? Agree, disagree?
